9.1 and Reflective: The Day Family Carried the Whole Score
What the numbers actually said
9.1 today, mood reflective. And here’s the thing about that number — it’s almost entirely a family number. Family scored a 9. Habits hit a clean 10, a perfect Shabbat execution. Faith held at 8. Those three carried the whole day on their backs while work sat at a 5 and health limped in at 6.
That’s an honest tension worth naming. On paper 9.1 looks like a great day. And it *was* a great day — just not an evenly great one. It was great in the dimensions that matter most on a Saturday, and quietly soft in the ones I usually lean on to feel productive. Shabbat is the one day I’m supposed to let that be okay. I’m still learning how.
The family win was the actual point
Beach with Lior in the morning. Daphna resting, then joining us. The three of us at the namal in the evening as the light went gold over the water. That’s not a consolation prize for a low-work day — that *is* the vision. That’s the exact shape of the days I’m building the whole system to protect.
Lior didn’t care that my portfolio didn’t move or that I closed zero material work. He cared that I was there, present, digging sand, not half-checking a screen. I kept my word to him — pool at the promised time, no negotiating, no “in five minutes.” My kept-promise streak is short but it’s real, and אמת בדיבור — truth in speech — is the middah I keep circling back to. My word is currency. Today I spent it on my son and it was worth every shekel.

The protein gap that keeps compounding
Here’s my recurring miss, and it’s boring, which is exactly why it’s dangerous. Protein at 94g against a 180g target. Fifty-two percent. Half. Calories hit 90%, carbs and fat were basically fine — fat actually overshot — but the protein density just wasn’t there. The chicken tikka masala at dinner was the anchor, and it came too late in the day to fix the math.
No training today, which is fine — Shabbat, expected, I don’t log workouts on Saturday and I’m at peace with that. Sleep was clean: 7.3 hours, deep sleep strong, resting HR at 43, stress low. The body was rested. The body was just underfed on the one macro that matters for what I’m asking it to do twice a day the rest of the week.
The lesson isn’t “try harder.” Intention hasn’t fixed this in weeks. This needs a structural fix — two high-protein meals planned before the day starts, not hoped for. That’s tomorrow’s job.
The thing sitting underneath
Finance scored a 6 and that’s the number I’m actually watching. Travel & Events is spiking hard this cycle and blowing the monthly picture wide open. The portfolio itself didn’t move — zero change, passive money doing its slow AI-recursion thing while I built sandcastles. But the spend is real and it needs eyes, not vibes.

So — 9.1, reflective. A day where family carried the score and discipline took the Shabbat off. Tomorrow I re-anchor the training week with a double session, get the commission comms out before the workday even starts, and finally fix the protein math like an adult. But tonight I’m not editing the day into a failure. Lior at the beach, Daphna at the namal, my word kept. If the system is real, it has to reward days like this too. Yalla — back to work in the morning.
