6.2 and a Body That Never Got Used: The Day I Had 95 Readiness and 118 Steps
The Numbers Said “Ready.” The Day Said “Nah.”
6.2 today. Reflective mood, and the reflection isn’t a good one — it’s the kind you do at 22:47 when you look at the data and realize the day showed up to the form but skipped the substance.
Here’s the gut-punch stat: my body was fully loaded. Sleep score of 88 — 25% deep, 28% REM, HRV at 47, resting heart rate at 43. Garmin flat-out told me readiness was 95/100. That’s a green light so bright it’s almost embarrassing. And what did I do with a body that was begging to be used?
118 steps. Zero workouts logged. No swim, no weights, no BJJ. The activities list is just… empty. That gap — between a 95 readiness score and 118 steps — is the entire story of the day. It’s not that I was tired. It’s that I had the fuel and never turned the key.
Habits Cratered at 24%
The habits dimension landed at 3/10, and that’s not a rounding error — that’s 4 of 17 habits rated done. 24%. Well below anything I’d call a baseline. Health scored a 6, but honestly even that feels generous, because a 6 there isn’t “I trained and ate clean” — it’s “I didn’t measure either, so I can’t claim either.” No nutrition logged. 0 of 2000 calories captured. That dimension stays honest — unknown, not clean. Two days of dark nutrition data would be a real problem, so tomorrow that light comes back on.
Can’t manage what you don’t measure. I say it constantly. Today I proved I’m not immune to my own rule.

Faith and Family Held the Frame
Here’s what I’m not going to pretend didn’t happen: faith scored an 8, and it earned it. Tefillin logged. The middot check-in ran — this week’s lever is סבלנות, patience over reactivity. Charity went out. The core liturgy of my day ran clean even when everything physical seized up. That’s exactly why I built those anchors — so on the days the rest collapses, something structural still holds.
Family landed at 7. Lior got his morning dance — that little wobbly ritual is one of my favorite checkboxes in the whole system. And I got my “notebook question” to Daphna done — the small daily move that keeps me curious about her instead of just co-managing a household. No reflections logged, which means the emotional texture of the day is invisible to me. I know the structure held. I don’t actually know how the day felt, and that blind spot bugs me.
Finance sat at 5. Portfolio held steady, automation ran, the morning brief came through clean. Passive stewardship, which is fine — but “the systems ran while I coasted” is the baseline, not the win.

So the real question I’m sitting with: what actually stops a ready body from moving? It wasn’t fatigue. It wasn’t the schedule — the blocks were there, I just walked past them. I think it was momentum, or the lack of it — one skipped session became permission for the next. Tomorrow is simple and non-negotiable: one training session, swim or weights, no excuse. Log the meals. Move one real thing forward on the pipeline. A 95 readiness deserves better than 118 steps. Yalla — tomorrow I use the fuel.
