6.6 and Two Loops Open: The Sunday Learning Carried the Day
6.6, Reflective, and Honest About It
The day scored 6.6 and the mood logged itself as “reflective,” which is the system’s polite way of saying I was in motion but not in command. Nine dimensions, and the one that lit up green was learning at 9. Everything else clustered in the fives and sixes — faith=5, work=5, system=6, goals=6, family=7, health=7, habits=7. That spread tells the whole story before I write a word: I fed my mind and my body, and I half-paid attention to the rest.
Two books closed on a Sunday — Jewish Literacy and The Power of Habit. That’s not a humble-brag, it’s a data point. The mind absorbed. Nine logged books-worth of appetite in a single day. But a 9 in learning sitting next to a 5 in faith is its own quiet indictment, and I’ll get to that.
The Body Showed Up. The Anchors Didn’t.
Health held at 7 and it earned it. Strength session at 09:13, pool swim at 18:01 — two workouts logged on a Sunday, which is real output when you also did a park run with a toddler. Garmin had me at 79 readiness, so the body was willing. The machine moved.
What didn’t move were the small anchors. Electrolytes and vitamins — skipped. Wake-up at 7am — missed. In bed by 11pm — kept, barely, after last night’s 00:36, which is exactly the kind of number that quietly wrecks a week. Habits came in at 9 of 13. Not a collapse. But the four I missed were the cheap ones, the ones that cost nothing but a decision.
And then the real miss: tefillin. Faith=5, no anchor today. I’ve written before about the day the tefillin slot went dark, and here it is again. It’s a two-minute act of showing up, and I didn’t. The frustrating part isn’t the failure — it’s that it wasn’t even dramatic. I just slid past it while in motion.

Israel Fatigue and the Loops I Left Open
Work scored 5, and the honest read is that I opened a lot and closed almost nothing. Walls fixed, admin chased, Lior’s document pack gathered for Tuesday, the remote deploy sorted. A current project got a note and ten first drafts. All of it useful. None of it finished. A day of opening loops and not shutting them, which is a specific and recurring flavor of failure for me.
Underneath it ran something heavier — what I keep calling the Israel fatigue. Street-level disgust, low standards bleeding into self-standards, that sense that the environment is quietly negotiating my own bar down. It showed up emotionally today, not just logistically, and the current project plan is tangled up in it. That’s worth sitting with rather than bypassing. Faith at 5 and this fatigue are probably the same signal wearing two outfits.
Family landed at 7, with real texture. Park time with Lior — the Gan habit kept, his hand in mine, pure wobbly joy. Cost-of-living tension humming in the background, two promises still hanging — the pool timing and the home question. No broken promises today. But no closed ones either, and I know from experience that silence from Daphna is not the same as a win.

So: 6.6 is an honest number for a day that was ambitious on paper and fractured in execution. The learning compounds either way — that part took care of itself. The question is whether the anchors do. Tomorrow the instruction is blunt: tefillin first thing, no exceptions; in bed by 23:15; close three overdue items instead of starting three new ones. A 9 in learning means nothing if the 5 in faith keeps repeating. Yalla — the mind’s awake. Now the discipline has to get out of bed on time with it.
