The Build Weekly #1: The Week the Fleet Learned to Fit a Phone
The score posts are dead. This is the first weekly recap of the building itself: seven days, one Mac in the cupboard, one on my lap, and way too many apps.
The week in one line
533 commits, six new apps, and the realisation that half my apps were chatting to me in tables my phone couldn’t read.

Day by day
- Sun 4 Oct: Forge HQ is born, and Caps Lock on the Air becomes a Hyper key that snaps windows and opens apps.
- Mon 5 Oct: Floopify is born, and Life OS swaps its boring “D” for an eclipse icon. Vanity, and I don’t care.
- Tue 6 Oct: Jessica’s phone calls now feed the knowledge base by themselves, and PuP fest starts pitching songs about my actual life.
- Wed 7 Oct: Vibe and Anchorman get their Mac halves. A “Path to a 9” sheet replaces the nagging Slack pings.
- Thu 8 Oct: The robot fills my grocery carts across three shops, and The Beast is born.
- Fri 9 Oct: Thirteen apps get M1 twins and a daily fleet doctor checks them all. Ep. 7: Anchorman Moves Into the M1.
- Sat 10 Oct: 123 commits across 34 projects, three new apps, and Shabbat still held.
The fleet scoreboard
- Life OS (hot): 83 commits. It ate body upkeep and Day Score nudges, and its chat now fits a phone.
- Shitshow (hot): 33 commits. It strips the junk HTML shops send and stops crushing parcel names into one letter.
- Forge HQ (hot): 33 commits. It got a new look, and apps added with its + button now land on the board.
- PuP fest, Floopify, Wormy (hot): life-sourced song seeds, photos that arrive by AirDrop, and Goodreads that stops timing out.
- Smoke Show (hot): it now keeps its own copy of every finished video. All 209 are backfilled before the old ones vanish.
- Athlean Supreme, Kaizey, Headroom (new): a training coach, a learning app that moved out of Life OS, and a Mac memory janitor.
App of the week
- Forge HQ. It was born Sunday and hit 33 commits by Saturday.
- It’s the board every other app lands on. Headroom and Kaizey both showed up there today as Live.
- It nudges me twice a week to actually sit down and build.
- With nineteen-plus apps, the thing that tracks the apps became the app.

What the week taught me
- Measure the real baseline before writing the rule. My power autopilot waited for “quiet” below 15% CPU. The Air idles at 15%, so it never went back to Low Power. Now it averages five checks under 28%.
- Fix once, ship everywhere. The squashed-table bug lived in seven apps. One fix went out to all of them within ten minutes.
- Plans are not events. The WhatsApp reader kept telling me to “call before noon” about a get-together. Now it knows the difference.
- One log, not two. Athlean and Life OS share a single record, so nothing disagrees with itself.
Next week
- Kaizey streak: it’s at 1. One card today was a streak-saver, not learning.
- Let the WhatsApp groups settle into the People Graph, cousins’ chat included.
- Fewer births, more care. Six new apps a week isn’t a pace, it’s a symptom. Yalla, polish.
Footnote: Life OS day score 6.9/10.
