The Build, Ep. 8: Teaching Floopify to Heal Instead of Quit
The day itself slipped away, but the machines didn’t. Here’s the short version: one app learned to pick itself up, one agent got a real name, and I found out a bunch of my jobs had quietly gone on strike.
What shipped
- Floopify now heals itself. When the Google Photos tab freezes mid-job, the worker revives it instead of binning the whole print file.
- Atc Studio’s Producer is now Revy. She also stopped cramming her replies into her own avatar circle, which was a weird look.
- Jade got her first proper brief. She ran a full audit of my social channels and then got a standing charter, so she knows the job without being re-told every time.
- Jessica’s calls now write themselves down. The morning phone call landed straight in the daily note, with no copy-paste needed.
- Life OS kept syncing on its own. The inbox snapshots ran twice and the manifest synced automatically, so it’s boring in the best way.

What broke
- A frozen browser tab killed Floopify’s prints. One stuck page took down the whole job.
- Revy’s replies were crushed into her avatar. A layout bug made the bot look like it was talking into a coin.
- Jade credited the wrong account. Her audit pinned some posts on the wrong account, so I logged the fix and folded it into her charter.
- Half the automation layer went silent. The morning email errored, and the evening brief, the proactive ping, the budget job and even the blog generator never ran. I didn’t notice.
The fleet
- Shitshow, Forge HQ and Built to Last are still the hot ones, with 14 to 30 commits each this week.
- The table plague is cured across a dozen apps. Chat tables were squashing the first column down to one letter, and now they wrap like adults.
- Floopify has hit 23 commits in 6 days. At six days old, it’s the hardest-working baby in the house.
- The 2-day-old crew (Wormy, Vibe, Meat Night, Kavanah) is alive but quiet. Fixes only, no new tricks yet.

The lesson
- Heal, don’t fail. If a retry would fix it, crashing is just laziness with a stack trace.
- “Producer” is a job title, while “Revy” is a teammate. Name your agents and you start treating them like crew.
- A job that dies silently isn’t automation, it’s a hope. If nothing screams when it stops, it already stopped.
Next
- Build a watchdog that shouts when a scheduled job doesn’t run. Silence should be the alarm.
- Give Jade her second pass, this time with the attribution fix baked in.
- Stress-test Floopify’s healing by freezing that tab on purpose. Yalla.
