The Build, Ep. 9: Life OS Finally Learns What Time It Is

One app is the story tonight: Life OS, the oldest kid in the house. It turns out it never knew whether it was day or night.

Life OS, in one line

  • My whole day on one screen. It holds the briefs, the habits, the Day Score and the health tiles, and it’s built for exactly one user: me.
  • Born: 25 April 2026
  • Age: 170 days
  • Total commits: 955
  • This week: 73, and still the hottest thing in the fleet
Commits per project today

How it grew

  • Started as a dashboard, became the hub. Every agent job on the M1 now reports into it.
  • The briefs moved in. The morning brief lands here with a voice note, so I listen instead of scroll.
  • It never sleeps. In the last 30 days the busiest day had 19 commits and the quietest had 2. It has had zero days off.
  • It talks to the younger apps. Athlean Supreme, Mindfuck and Built to Last all feed back into it now.

Tonight’s change

  • Day / Night / Auto. Auto is the default, and it’s set before the page draws, so there’s no white flashbang at 22:00.
  • Day Score card redone. The nine life domains now sit in one row of short columns, so one glance tells me where the day leaked.
  • Training tile behaves like its siblings. Tap it and you get today, the week’s sessions and the coach, plus one link into Athlean Supreme.
  • The robots kept syncing. The system manifest auto-synced three times without me touching it.

What it still can’t do

  • Notice when my jobs die. Most of the evening jobs, including the blog generator, quietly didn’t run today. I only found out because I went looking.
  • Nag me properly. It shows a dead learning streak but doesn’t push me toward a Kaizey session.
  • Explain itself. It has 955 commits, and I can’t remember what half the tiles were for.

Next

  • A dead-job alarm, loud and in my face instead of buried in a log.
  • A system tile that’s honest. If a job didn’t run, it should go red, yalla.
  • Prune. Every tile has to earn its pixel.

Also today

  • Dark mode went fleet-wide. Consistently, Earshot, Outbound and Smoke Show all got Day / Night / Auto in one evening sprint.
  • Mindfuck got a 5-minute cut of every long session, plus a path of four stages after Henry Shukman’s four inns.
  • Athlean Supreme workouts now open their own detail sheet.
  • Built to Last opens with the evening brief’s voice note before the day’s question.

Footnote: Life OS day score 8/10.
